I attended the online Cacao ceremony that Gina hosted on 22nd December 2025. I must admit to being a little anxious about participating but Gina’s pre-event communications helped calm my nerves.

Her suggestions for creating a calm and receptive atmosphere before going online helped. Although I had already tried Origin & Alchemy’s Cacao, the advice on how to prepare the ceremonial grade Cacao sample that had been mailed to me prior to the ceremony would be invaluable to anyone trying Cacao for their first time.

Confidentiality is of prime importance and Gina assured the attendees that the zoom meeting would not be recorded or discussed with anyone outside of the group. Gina gave us a brief history of Cacao and how she has been used through the ages. Before we took our first sip, Gina recited an affirmation and we meditated as we drank.

The power of the Cacao to open up the heart and release emotions is incredible. The session ended with a longer meditation and a closing chat.

I would highly recommend everyone to attend one of Gina and Leon’s Cacao ceremonies. Even, if like me, you have already drank Cacao, drinking it with intention and guidance is so rewarding.

Absolutely the best ceremonial cacao i've tried in the last 8 years. It tastes amszing, not too bitter or fermented. I love how its in comes, already broken into relatively small peices which doesn't require chopping or grating as appose to big clunky peices. This saves me so much time and energy, especially when I'm preparing elixirs for anywhere between 5-20 people.

Absolutely love this cacao.
It has become a ritual since trying it on the retreat. Every morning now instead of coffee I have a cup of cacao, the smooth taste iis of course amazing but one thing I have noticed. I don't have the jitters that coffee used to give me. I have less brain fog and am more calm.
I have tried other cocoa's before the one thing I like is that it isn't powdery and has an awesome flavour. It is so delicious that I have to hide if from my husband. I need to order a bigger bag next time me thinks.

Highly recommend the Ceremonial Cacao, it’s honestly the best hot chocolate I’ve ever had.
The flavour is rich, smooth, and comforting without being overly sweet, which makes it feel like a proper treat while still being natural and wholesome.

I’ve also been adding it to my porridge in the mornings, and it tastes incredible, gives it a chocolatey boost without any guilt. You can really tell it's high quality compared to regular drinking chocolate.

It’s incredibly smooth, deliciously rich, and clearly well-sourced. It even comes with a kind little note in the box — you can really feel the love and care that goes into it. This has become a beautiful part of my morning routine, offering physical, mental, and emotional benefits. I’ll definitely be purchasing again!

As I had never tried Coconut Sugar before I was a little hesitant about adding it to my Cacao order. I needn’t have worried. Like everything else that I have purchased from Origin & Alchemy, this natural sugar was of the highest quality. I don’t normally take added sugar in food and drink but wanted to be able to share my cacao with friends who regularly add sugar or sweeteners to their drinks. I did perform a taste test in some cacao and a spoonful sprinkled over some banana porridge and blueberries, and I was pleasantly surprised by the subtle sweetness. No sugar can be classed as a health food but coconut sugar does have a lower glycemic index than common white granulated sugar and therefore is less likely to cause less drastic spikes in blood sugar levels. As with everything, enjoy in moderation. Thanks again to Leon & Gina and I wish you continued success.

If you’re looking for a drink that tastes good and has many health and wellness benefits, then I highly recommend this ceremonial grade cacao from Origin & Alchemy. The quality of the cacao nibs are excellent and however you choose to prepare your drink, the warming heart of the cacao ensures a pleasurable experience every time. I have gently whisked it into organic oat milk, organic vanilla soya milk (for a slightly sweeter taste) and added cinnamon, manukau honey and rock salt. Alternatively add a spoonful of Origin & Alchemy organic coconut sugar. On a hot summer’s day why not melt some cacao nibs into freshly brewed organic vanilla rooibos tea and pour over a tumbler of ice with a slice of your favourite citrus fruit? Totally refreshing. Customer service from Leon and Gina is exemplary and I wish them continued success with their new business.

The two handmade ceremonial mugs that I purchased from Leon & Gina are beautifully crafted and I love the harmonious colours which definitely compliment wellbeing properties of the cacao. Communications with Leon was exemplary and I was advised about the different capacities of the mug designs.
